SRI SRI THAKUR→ On Meditation & Self-Realization

Meditation has become an integral part of my Being. It does not spare me. As long as physical existence is there, wherever, in whatever form, meditation will remain ingrained with the Being. Do meditate yourself intensely, for some days; you will have realization like me. Meditation of Holy Name renders other spiritual practices meaningless and sterile.It is a good symptom, when mind becomes vacant during the course of meditation. Do meditate intensely. You will be able to find out the clue of everything. Whole process of the mysterious creation will be revealed. How come! So many things will be perceived, there is no end of it. During the course of journey through the process of meditation, one witnesses the scenes of millions of lives. Life of Universe, nay life of self, nay one’s endless past-all reveal itself, like the celluloid screen unfolding one after another. It seems as if the body will crack under the tremendous pressure of realization. There is a feeling of immense pain and equally immense pleasure too. It matters a little if there is feeling of pain. One cannot give up this exercise. This makes one numb with ecstasy and drags him on and on like intoxication. Holy Name has a kind of intoxicating effect of its own. This intoxication over powers one and compels him to practice of Holy Name, but the latter will not spare you. The intoxication will swallow you up like RAHU. You cannot escape from its grip. Being is equally influenced by good and bad instincts as well. You will find yourself, how regular practices of Holy Name will one day get hold of you. Once it so happens, then all your worries are over. In order to reach that stage, you have to keep on practicing the Holy Name very carefully and regularly. By sincere practice of Holy Name, the Lord within is awakened. Once He is awakened, then He will pine for His manifestation. When it happens like this, the aspirant spares no time to devote to the cause of His service and sympathy, remembrance and worship, honor and pleasure. Whatever fulfills and pleases his Lord, he is ever ready to serve it, never minding however great may be the cost of sacrifice. On the other hand, wherever it is contrary to the interest of his Lord, he will not even take a single step forward, no matter, how soothing, attractive and comfortable it is.
